' Open ended questions have the advantage that the respondent is not limited to the options listed, and that the respondent is not being influenced by seeing a list of responses.

Generally I would recommend leaving these types questions open ended. You can also ask non open ended questions such as "On a scale of 1-10, how satisfied are you with our customer service?

Open ended questions: Questions which encourage the respondent to provide their own answers.
Paretos Law (80/20) : A rule which suggests that 80% of an organisations turnovers is generated from 20% of their customers.
