Mail Panels:
A set of the sample which has been screened and previously accepted to participate in studies with a particular company. The company then proceeds to periodically send surveys to such participants.

Consumer Panels
Consumers are recruited to serve on permanent panels. Each member keeps a diary noting their product purchase details. Analysis then shows what type of customer buys what type of brand, where from and when.

Outer Envelope or Mailing Panels - The outer envelope or the outer panels of a self-mailer brochure are the first thing the prospective customer will see.

STORYBOARD - A series of panels roughly depicting scenes, copy, and shots proposed for a television commercial. The storyboard gives the client a good idea of the agency's concept for a commercial, before extensive production charges are incurred.

The record kept by a respondent of purchase behavior, likes and dislikes and so forth, over a period of time. Typically diaries are a product of research panels who create them.
