Mail Panels:
A set of the sample which has been screened and previously accepted to participate in studies with a particular company. The company then proceeds to periodically send surveys to such participants.

Panels This includes regular and illuminated types of outdoor advertising. A regular panel is only seen during the daytime, while an illuminated panel is seen also from dusk until dawn.

STORYBOARD - A series of panels roughly depicting scenes, copy, and shots proposed for a television commercial. The storyboard gives the client a good idea of the agency's concept for a commercial, before extensive production charges are incurred.

Data are collected through research panels. Shortly after the Nielsen//NetRatings venture was announced, VNU, the Dutch information services and publishing company, acquired Nielsen Media Research, including a controlling interest in NetRatings.

That customer list is your store. It's your database. It's your treasure chest. You make it grow by remailing your best list/offer panels and testing new lists incrementally in each successive mailing.

The organization that has developed a mail panel generally has classification data about the household to allow the client to select a sample of respondents with whom to conduct a survey. Mail Panels can be local or national in scope.
