Preferred position - A position in a print publication, such as the back cover of a magazine, that attracts most reader attention and is sold at a higher rate.
Pre-testing - Testing of an advertisement on an audience sample prior to media placement.

 


Preferred position A position in a printed publication that is thought to attract most reader attention and is sold at a higher rate; for example, the back cover of a magazine.

Preferred position
An advertising position within a publication or within a block of television ads for which the advertiser may pay a premium price.

Run-of-press/ Run of paper (ROP)
A newspaper publisher's option to place an ad anywhere in the publication that they choose, as opposed to Preferred position. Also referred to as Run-of paper.
