Meteorology AeronomyAerosols

Aerosol Non-gaseous substances, divided into solid particles or liquid droplets, held in suspension in the atmosphere.

aerosol"A colloidal system in which the dispersed phase is composed of either solid or liquid particles, and in which the dispersion medium is some gas, usually air.

Aerosol- Particles of matter, solid or liquid, larger than a molecule but small enough to remain suspended in the atmosphere (up to 100µ m diameter).

Aerosols: Tiny solid or liquid particles that are suspended in the atmosphere.
Air mass: A large body of air that has similar weather characteristics, particularly temperature and humidity.

Aerosols - Tiny solid and liquid particles suspended in the atmosphere.
Aerovane - A device that resembles a wind vane with a propeller at one end. Used to indicate wind speed and direction.

aerosol: particulate matter put into the atmosphere. Examples are smoke and dust.
air mass: a body of air that has the same temperature, moisture, and stability properties.

Aerosols Tiny suspended solid particles (dust, smoke, etc.) or liquid droplets that enter the atmosphere from either natural or human (anthropogenic) sources, such as the burning of fossil fuels.

Aerosols Tiny liquid or solid particles of various composition that occur suspended in the atmosphere.

Aerosol Particles of liquid or solid dispersed as a suspension in gas.
Afforestation The act or process of establishing a forest, especially on land not previously forested.

Anthropogenic aerosols, particularly sulphate aerosols from fossil fuel combustion, exert a cooling influence[5].

AEROSOL - A suspension of solid or liquid material in a gas (or solid in a liquid) due to small particle or droplet size. Clouds are examples of aerosols (liquid water suspended in air).

volcanic aerosol - The cloud of particles injected into the stratosphere by explosive volcanic eruptions.

aerosol Particulate material, other than water or ice, in the atmosphere ranging in size from approximately 10x-3 to larger than 10x2 ´m in radius.

PollutantParticles, gases, or liquid aerosols in the atmosphere which have an undesirable effect on humans or their surroundings. Something unfavorable to health and life that has been added to the environment.PondageIn hydrologic terms, ...

Visible images represent the amount of sunlight being scattered back into space by the clouds, aerosols, atmospheric gases, and the Earth's surface.

A radar unit that, in the velocity mode, determines the radial movement of airborne hydrometeor or aerosol targets either to or from the unit; based upon the Doppler Effect or Shift, ...

CCN - Cloud Condensation Nuclei. Particles (or aerosols) on which water condenses to form cloud drops.

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) Chlorine, Fluorine & Carbon, which are used in aerosols and coolants. Automobiles are a primary producer on CFC's.

In physical meteorology, a reduction in radiation flow, especially solar radiation by atmospheric gases and aerosols.

These changes in orbit alter the amount of solar energy reaching the earth and result in subtle changes in atmospheric temperature. The amount of solar energy reaching the earth's surface is also influenced by volcanic eruptions that emit aerosols ...
