Meteorology AGLAir Discharges

Air masses are classified according to their temperature and moisture content. The terms Arctic, Polar, and Tropical define the temperature of an air mass with arctic being the coldest and tropical being the warmest.

Introduction:
An air mass is a large body of air with similar temperature and moisture properties throughout.

Air temperature (Also termed surface temperature in meteorology). The ambient temperature indicated by a thermometer exposed to the air but sheltered from direct solar radiation.

Air Mass Large body of air, often hundreds or thousands of miles across, containing air of a similar temperature and humidity.

Air is forced to flow against and over a mountain range in a short period of time. The air cools as it rises up the mountain range, cloud forms and rain or snow falls.

Mass of air per unit volume.
Air Mass
An extensive body of the atmosphere whose physical properties, particularly temperature and humidity, exhibit only small and continuous differences in the horizontal.

Air Pressure - or atmospheric pressure. air pressure is the force exerted on a surface by the weight of the air above it. The internationally recognized unit for measuring this pressure is the kilopascal.

Air mass thunderstorm - a garden variety storm which causes little if any damage. It occurs a considerable distance from any front.
Air pollutant - anthropogenic or otherwise unusual substance in the air. Usually harmful.

Air Mass - A large body of air, usually 1600 diameters or more across, that is characterized by homogeneous physical properties at any given altitude.
