Atmospheric sciences is an umbrella term for the study of the atmosphere, its processes, the effects other systems have on the atmosphere, and the effects of the atmosphere on these other systems.
The Department of Atmospheric Sciences (DAS) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) would like to announce the release of the 2nd edition of the Weather World 2010 (WW2010) Educational CD-ROM.
Areas of studies include the atmospheric sciences and meteorology, geology, seismology, and volcanology, and oceanography and related marine sciences, such as hydrology. By extension, it includes astronomy and the related astro-sciences.
But this is one small area of what we might regard as the atmospheric sciences discipline.

METEOROLOGY - Branch of science pertaining to the study or the earth's (or any planet's) atmosphere. May also be called ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCES (a branch of earth science).
