BROKEN CLOUDS: Clouds which cover between 6/10 and 9/10 of the sky.
CAA: Cold Air Advection.
CEILING: The height of the lowest layer of clouds, when the sky is broken or overcast.

SCUD - Low broken clouds usually found beneath thunderstorm cloud bases, near fronts, or near cooler rain outflow regions. Common acronym for Scattered Cumulus Under Deck.

Clear skies allow 100% of the incoming UV radiation from the sun to reach the surface, whereas scattered clouds transmit 89%, broken clouds transmit 73%, and overcast conditions transmit 31%.

The symbol highlighted in yellow indicates the amount of cloud cover observed at the time the observation is taken. In this case, broken clouds were reported.
