CHEMOSPHERE A vaguely defined region of the upper atmosphere in which photochemical reactions take place. It includes the top of the stratosphere, all of the mesosphere, and sometimes the lower part of the thermosphere.
Specific ionization and photochemical processes occur in the ionosphere(encompassing part of the upper mesosphere and thermosphere) and the chemosphere and ozonosphere (both part of the upper stratosphere). Advertisement Weather Facts ...
The chemosphere, with no very definite height limits, is the region in which photochemical reactions take place. Dynamic and kinetic processes are a third criterion.
