DATA BUOYS Buoys placed throughout the Gulf of Mexico and along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the United States that relay information on air and water temperature, wind speed, air pressure, and wave conditions via radio signals.
BUOY - An anchored or floating marker, navigation, or instrument package in a body of water. DATA BUOYS relay important aspects on water temperature and wave information in oceans.
It indicates whether ice conditions will occur earlier, later, or about the normal times over the lakes. Supporting data, such as selected water temperatures from water intakes and NOAA data buoys, will also be provided in this product.
