HABOOB - A dust storm kicked up by a thunderstorm gust front. Common in the southwest United States during the monsoon.

On Earth, common weather phenomena include such things as wind, cloud, rain, snow, fog and dust storms. Less common events include natural disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes and ice storms.

Haboob: A desert dust storm.
Hail: Jagged or round ice chunks that fall from thunderstorms. When the hail is cut is half, it contains rings for each time it rose and fell in the storm and resembles and onion.

HABOOB: From Arabic, the meteorological term for a dust storm.
HAIL: Frozen precipitation in the form of layered lumps of ice produced by convection within cumulonimbus clouds.
HAZE: Fine dust particles present in a portion of the atmosphere.

Khamsin: A dry, dusty and often hot wind blowing from the Egyptian desert over Red Sea, generally from the south or southeast. In the spring, their onset is usually preceded by a heat wave lasting about three days and followed by a dust storm.
