Fall Wind- a strong, cold, downslope wind.
Fathom- the common unit used to measure depth in the ocean; it is equivalent ot six feet.

Fall Wind - See Katabatic Wind.
Fata Morgana - A mirage most frequently observed in coastal areas in which extreme towering occurs.

Fall wind—A cold wind blowing downslope. Fall wind differs from foehn in that the air is initially cold enough to remain relatively cold despite compressional heating during descent.

Fall Wind- a strong, cold, downslope wind.
Feeder Bands- Lines or bands of low-level clouds that move (feed) into the updraft region of a thunderstorm, usually from the east through south (i.e., parallel to the inflow).

Vardar A cold fall wind blowing from the northwest down the Vardar valley in Greece to the Gulf of Salonica. It occurs when atmospheric pressure over eastern Europe is higher than over the Aegean Sea, as is often the case in winter.

Fall windA strong, cold, downslope wind.FineNo rain or other precipitation (hail, snow etc.). The use of fine is generally avoided in excessively cloudy, windy, foggy or dusty conditions.

If cold, it may be a fall wind or a gravity wind. Katathermometer A type of cooling-power anemometer based upon the principle that the time constant of a thermometer is a function of its ventilation.

Fall WindA strong, cold, downslope wind.FallstreakSame as Virga; streaks or wisps of precipitation falling from a cloud but evaporating before reaching the ground. In certain cases, shafts of virga may precede a microburst.

Katabatic wind Any wind blowing down an incline; the opposite to anabatic wind. If the wind is warm, it is called a foehn; if cold, it may be a fall wind (bora), or a gravity wind (mountain wind).
