HEAT LIGHTNING
Lightning that appears as a glowing flash on the horizon. It is actually lightning occurring in distant thunderstorms, just over the horizon and too far away for thunder to be heard.

Lightning that occurs at a distance such that thunder is no longer audible.
Heat Stroke ...

Heat Lightning: A popular term for lightning that is visible but for which no thunder is heard. It usually occurs in scattered thunderstorms/showers on hot nights when storm are at a distance from the observer.

Heat lightning Distant lightning that illuminates the sky but is too far away for its thunder to be heard.
Heiligenschein A faint white ring surrounding the shadow of an observer's head on a dew-covered lawn.

Heat Lightning This term was derived from observations of lightning under clear skies during warm summer evenings. It was misconstrued that the lightning was produced by an excessively heated atmosphere.

Heat Lightning...Is streak lightning off in the distance too far to hear thunder.
Sheet Lightning...A diffused, glowlike lightning whitish in color, covering a considerable area in the clouds.

Heat Lightning- Lightning that can be seen, but is too far away to be heard.
High- An area of higher atmospheric pressure.
Hurricane- A tropical cyclone in the western hemisphere that has sustained wind speeds of 74 miles per hour or greater.

Heat Lightning - There is no such thing as heat lightning. Heat lightning is just ordinary lightning, except that it is too far away for its thunder to be heard or the cloud producing it to be seen.

HEAT LIGHTNING - A form of lightning, usually sheet type lightning caused by a distant storm, seen on warm summer nights.

Heat Island- A dome of elevated temperatures over an urban area caused by the heat absorbed by structures and pavement.

Heat Lightning- Lightning that can be seen, but is too far away for the thunder to be heard.
