LENTICULAR CLOUD A cloud species which has elements resembling smooth lenses or almonds and more or less isolated. These clouds are caused by a wave wind pattern created by the mountains.

Lenticular Clouds- A cloud that generally has the form of a smooth lens. They usually appear in formation as the result of orographic origin. Viewed from the ground, the clouds appear stationary as the air rushes through them.

Lenticular cloud - Smooth lens shape to the cloud and often seen downwind from mountains. For example, alto cumulus standing lenticularis (ACSL).
