Mean Low Water (MLW) The average height of the daily low tides recorded over a 19-year period at a specific location.
Nearshore Forecast(NSH) - National Weather Service seasonal marine forecasts for an areas of the Great Lakes extending from a line approximating mean low water datum along the coast or an island, including bays, harbors, and sounds, out to 5 nm.
Mean Low Water(MLW) - A tidal datum. The average of all the low water heights observed over the National Tidal Datum Epoch.
Chart Datum: A plane of reference, established by the National Ocean Survey (NOS), as a mean low water level for each of the Great Lakes.
