Mixed precipitation (rain and snow) Mixed precipitation (rain and snow) Precipitation consisting of a mixture of rain and wet snow. It usually occurs when the temperature of the air layer near the ground is slightly above freezing.
MIXED PRECIPITATION Any of the following combinations of freezing and frozen precipitation: snow and sleet, snow and freezing rain, or sleet alone. Rain may also be present.
In cases of mixed precipitation or blowing, these snowfall amounts may be less.
