Severe Thunderstorm Watch- Outlines an area where hail up to 3/4 inch in diameter or larger and damaging thunderstorm winds are expected to occur.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch (WWA) This is issued by the National Weather Service when conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch - An outlined area where severe thunderstorms are more likely to occur within a certain time frame. Sometimes will be referred to as a "watch box".

Severe Thunderstorm Watch
Indicates that confitions are favorable for lightning, damaging winds greater than 58 miles an hour and hail and/or heavy rainfall.
Severe Tropical Storm
Maximum wind speed of 48 to 63 knots.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch- Issued when conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to a defined area.
Shallow fog- Fog in which the visibility at 6 feet above ground level is 5/8ths of a mile or more.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is issued by the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma.

This enhanced wording may also accompany severe thunderstorm watches for intense convective wind storms.

Watch Box(or simply "Box") - slang for a Severe Thunderstorm Watch or Tornado Watch issued by the SPC.

They are responsible for preparing thunderstorm outlooks and issuing tornado and severe thunderstorm watches. The Center is located in Kansas City, Missouri.

An option used by the SPC in tornado and severe thunderstorm watches when the potential for strong/violent tornadoes, or unusually widespread damaging straight-line winds, is high.

This product will be issued to let the public know when either a Tornado Watch or Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been canceled early. It is issued by the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in Norman, Oklahoma.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Severe thunderstormas are possible. Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Severe thunderstorms are occurring. Severe Thunderstorm Warning: 1 Hour 50 mph winds 3/4 in hail. Sheet Lightning: Lightning which occurs inside the clouds.

Values in excess of 2500 show enough energy to produce strong thunderstorms and may be used as a justification for the National Severe Storms Forecast Center (NSSFC) in Norman, OK to issue a severe thunderstorm watch.
