SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY An advisory issued for marine interests, especially for operators of small boats or other vessels. Conditions include wind speeds between 20 knots (23 mph) and 34 knots (39 mph).

 


SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY: Winds in excess of 22 knots (25 mph), and less than 34 knots (39 mph), that may cause hazardous conditions for operators of small vessels.

SMALL CRAFT: Generally a vessel under 65 feet in length.

Small Craft Advisory
This is issued by the National Weather Service to alert small boats to sustained (more than 2 hours) hazardous weather or sea conditions. These conditions may be either present or forecasted.

Small Craft Advisory- a marine advisory issued for sustained winds and/or frequent gusts greater than twenty ><>Smog- a mixture of smoke and fog; a natural fog contaminated by industrial pollutants.

Small Craft Advisories
A warning of winds from 20 to 33 knots or for sea conditions either forecasted or occurring that are considered potentially hazardous to small boats in coastal waters.
Smog
Fog having a high pollution content.

Small Craft Advisory- A marine advisory for winds 25 to 33 knots (29 to 38 mph) or seas of 5 feet or more, that may cause hazardous conditions for operators of small vessels.

A marine warning issued by Environment Canada Atmospheric Environment Branch when the possibility of thunderstorms is greater than 40 percent.

SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY - Non convective type advisory product of the National Weather Service warning of dangerous wind / wave conditions for mariners operating small vessels (less than 100 feet in length).

Marine Wind Warnings - Small Craft Warning - issued if winds are forecast to be in the range of 20 to 33 knots inclusive.
Gale Warning - issued if winds are forecast to be in the range of 34 to 47 knots inclusive.

The coastal waters zone adjacent to the coastline within which the majority of small craft operate and which is usually within 5 to 10 nautical miles of the coastline.
