Specific humidity
The mass of water vapour per unit mass of air (including the water vapour). It is another measure of the actual water vapour content of the air.

Specific humidity is the ratio between the amount of water vapour in air and the total mass of the mixture of air and water vapour.

SPECIFIC HUMIDITY
The ratio of the density of the water vapor to the density of the air, a mix of dry air and water vapor. It is expressed in grams per gram or in grams per kilograms.

SPECIFIC HUMIDITY: In a system of moist air, the dimensionless ratio of the mass of water vapor to the total mass of the system.

Specific humidity The ratio of the mass of water vapor in a given parcel to the total mass of air in the parcel.
Squall line Any nonfrontal line or band of active thunderstorms.
Stable air See Absolutely stable air.

Specific Humidity In a system of moist air, the ratio of the mass of water vapor to the total mass of the system.

Specific humidity The mass of water vapor per mass of air containing the water vapor; usually expressed as grams of water per kilogram of humid air.

specific humidity—The ratio by weight of water vapor in a sample of air to the combined weight of water vapor and dry air. Compare mixing ratio.

Specific humidity is a method of expressing the amount of aqueous vapor in air by using a ratio of water vapor to dry air. Specific humidity is expressed as a ratio of kilograms of water vapor,
mw
, per kilogram of air,
ma
.

Specific Humidity:The ration of the mass of water vapor (in grams) to the mass (in kilograms) of air containing the water vapor, expressed as grams of water vapor per kilogram of humid air. The combined mass of dry air plus water vapor.

specific humidity: the weight of water vapor in air compared to the weight of that air
(e.g., 5 grams of water vapor in every kilogram of air)
vapor pressure: the partial pressure exerted by just the water vapor in the air ...

where L represents the latent heat of vaporization, Ke is the eddy diffusion coefficient, and is the specific humidity. See also diffusion, turbulence.

The multiplicity of humidity measures is partly due to different methods of measurement and partly because the conservative measures (mixing ratio, specific humidity) cover an extremely wide dynamic range, ...

The mass of water vapour in a given volume of air. It represents the density of water vapour in the air. See also Specific humidity, Relative humidity.
