Surface Visibility: Surface visibility determined at a defined location.
Sun: My Article. Sunspot: Storms on the Sun of electrified gases reach maximum about every 11 years. SW- Designated letter for light snow showers.

Surface visibility is the prevailing visibility determined from the usual point of observation. Prevailing visibility is considered representative of visibility conditions at the station.

Blowing SnowBlowing snow is wind-driven snow that reduces surface visibility. Blowing snow can be falling snow or snow that has already accumulated but is picked up and blown by strong winds. Blowing snow is usually accompanied by drifting snow.

Blowing Dust (BLDU) Wind-driven dust that significantly reduces surface visibility to less than 7 miles.
Blowing Snow (BLSA) Wind-driven sand that significantly reduces surface visibility to less than 7 miles.

Issued when wind driven snow reduces surface visibility, possibly, hampering traveling. Blowing snow may be falling snow, or snow that has already accumulated but is picked up and blown by strong winds.
Blue Watch or Blue Box ...

BLOWING SNOW - Wind-driven snow which reduces surface visibility.
BOW ECHO - An accelerated portion of a squall line of thunderstorms, taking on a radar indicated bow configuration, created by strong downburst winds ...

Blowing Snow Advisory - When wind driven snow reduces the surface visibility causing dangerous driving conditions. Blowing snow can be falling or snow that has already accumulated on the ground but is picked up and blown by strong winds.

Blowing Snow Advisory - Issued when wind driven snow reduces surface visibility, possibly, hampering traveling. Blowing snow may be falling snow, or snow that has already accumulated but is picked up and blown by strong winds.

Minute water droplets suspended in the air that reduce surface visibility to less than 1000m. Fog is cloud on the ground.
Freak waves ...

The principle types are radiational fog, ice fog, advection fog, upslope fog, rain induced fog, and steam fog. These types of fog are called "dense" when the surface visibility is equal to or less than 1/4 miles.

S weather observing practice, it is the value as obtained and reported by an observer or by an automatic weather station. See surface visibility, control-tower visibility, runway visual range, night visual range. 2.
