Tornadic Activity- The occurrence or disappearance of tornadoes, funnel clouds, or waterspouts.

 


Tornadic Activity: When a Tornado/Funnel Cloud or Waterspout may occur or has been sighted.
Tower Cumulus: A term given to cumulus clouds with great vertical height.

of the world (outside North America), as measured by number of reported tornadoes per unit area, is the United Kingdom, especially England. Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh and portions of Uruguay also have pockets of strong tornadic activity.

This is a derived parameter which quantifies the tendency for airflow in the lower levels of the troposphere to 'corkscrew' and thus encourage the formation of storms with strong mesoscale circulations, possibly leading to tornadic activity.
