WARM LOW A low pressure system that has its warmest temperatures at or near the center of circulation. Also referred to as a warm core low.
If these ice crystals should fall into a warm lower cloud containing much moisture, they melt and then grow as they fall, sweeping up droplets in their path, and falling as rain.
Cold low (or cold cyclone) At a given level in the atmosphere, any low that is generally characterized by colder air near its center than around its periphery; the opposite of a warm low.
