WARNING STAGE: The level of a river or stream which may cause minor flooding, and at which concerned interests should take action.

 


Warning stage The stage on a fixed river gauge at which it is necessary to begin issuing warnings or river forecasts if adequate precautionary measures are to be taken before flood stage is reached.

The Lehigh River yesterday rose to the flood warning stage of 20 feet about 5 p.m. Flood stage is 22 feet at Allentown. ''Hopefully, we will be getting some regular rainfall to keep up the flows,'' Mashek said.
