This product will be issued to let the public know when either a Tornado Watch or Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been canceled early.

Watch Status Reports (WWA) This product lets the NWFO know of the status of the current severe weather watch (Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm).

Watch - a National Weather Service product indicating that conditions are favorable for the occurrence of a particular hazard. A watch is a recommendation for planning, preparation, and increased awareness.

watch - Issued when the risk of a hazardous weather or hydrologic event has increased significantly but its occurrence, location, and/or timing is still uncertain.

WATCH: Forecast issued well in advance to alert the public of the possibility of a particular hazard (eg. tornado watch, flash flood watch).
WATERSPOUT: A column of rotating air over a body of water (ie. a tornado over the water).

Watch- informs the public that conditions exist that are favorable for the occurence of severe weather conditions within twelve to thirty-six hours of the given announcement.

WATCH - identifies a relatively large area in which hazardous or severe weather might occur. The watch is only an indication of where and when the severe weather probabilities are the highest, and should not be confused with a warning.

Watch - Issued when hazardous weather of hydrologic conditions are possible but its occurrence, location and/or timing is still uncertain. A watch is intended to provide lead time so those who need to set plans in motion may do so.

PDS Watch - [Slang], a tornado watch with enhanced wording (Particularly Dangerous Situation).

WATCH: A public notice issued by the National Weather Service when conditions are such that a certain hazard (tornado, severe thunderstorm, flood or winter storm) is possible.

Watch- Conditions are favorable for a certain threatening weather condition to occur. It doesn't mean the threatening weather condition is occuring.

Watch - A forecast issued by the National Weather Service indicating that conditions are favorable for a particular weather hazard.

WATCH - Means that severe weather is possible for a given area. Severe weather watches often have a boxed region (areal box) associated with them and an expiration time.

WAVEWATCH III? (Tolman 1997, 1999a, 2009) is a third generation wave model developed at NOAA/NCEP in the spirit of the WAM model (WAMDIG 1988, Komen et al. 1994).

A Tornado Watch is issued by the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in Norman, Oklahoma.

Hurricane Watch: An announcement for specific coastal areas that hurricane conditions are possible within 36 hours.

Hurricane Watch
An alert added to an hurricane advisory covering a specificed area and duration. A watch means that hurricane conditions are a real possibility; it does not mean they are imminent.

HURRICANE WATCH
A formal advisory issued by forecasters at the National Hurricane Center when they have determined that hurricane conditions are a potential threat to a coastal area or group of islands within a 24 to 36 hour period.

Gale WatchA watch for an increased risk of a gale force wind event for sustained surface winds, or frequent gusts, of 34 knots (39 mph) to 47 knots (54 mph), but its occurrence, location,and/or timing is still uncertain.

High wind watchIssued when conditions are favorable for the development of high winds over all of or part of the forecast area but the occurrence is still uncertain.

SIGMET information Meteorological information issued by a watch office concerning the occurrence or forecast of weather phenomena which may affect the safety of aircraft operations.

WATCH A forecast issued well in advance of a severe weather event to alert the public of the possibility of a particular hazard, such as tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flash and river floods, winter storms, or heavy snows.

Its chief activities are the World Weather Watch programme, which coordinates facilities provided by member states, and a programme that aims to extend knowledge of the natural and human-induced variability of climate.

From the backside we watch as the same storm cluster moves away to the east. Observe the southeastward-tilt of the clouds in the short flanking line and the precipitation area to the east.

When BST is in force (in the uk), this means taking one hour off your watch time, so a waterspout seen at 7 pm on the south coast in mid-July should be reported as occurring at 1800 GMT.

Greek fishermen are especially mindful of watching for and reporting on bourini squalls as they move across the region. Some fishing boats are occaisionally lost in these types of storms.
