Water cycle
Water is the lifeblood of the weather. It moves into the atmosphere as water vapour through evaporation from water surfaces or through transpiration from plants.

WATER CYCLE
The vertical and horizontal transport of water in all its states between the earth, the atmosphere, and the seas.

Often called the water cycle, it is the vertical and horizontal transport of water in all its states between the earth, the atmosphere, and the seas.
HYDROLOGY ...

DroughtAbnormally dry weather in a region over an extended period sufficient to cause a serious hydrological (water cycle) imbalance in the affected area. This can cause such problems as crop damage and water-supply shortage.

On the Earth, water vapor is one state of the water cycle within the hydrosphere. Water vapor can be produced from the evaporation of liquid water or from the sublimation of ice.

hydrologic cycle: the exchange of water between the earth, the oceans, and the atmosphere. Also called the water cycle.
hydrosphere: the part of planet earth that is covered with water and ice.

Hydrological Cycle: The vertical and horizontal transport of water through the global environment in all its states between the earth, the atmosphere and seas, lakes, rivers and other water bodies. Often also called the water cycle ...

climate through its influence on surface vegetation, the clouds, snow and ice, and soil moisture. The hydrologic cycle is responsible for 25-30% of the mid-latitudes' heat transport from the equatorial to polar regions. See The Water Cycle.

might join a river, or be stored for a time in a lake or reservoir. Ultimately it will either find its way back to the ocean or be evaporated back into the atmosphere, from where it will move along through various branches of the eternal water cycle.
