Wet-bulb temperature

Meteorology Wet MicroburstWhirlwind

Wet-bulb temperature is measured using a standard mercury-in-glass thermometer, with the thermometer bulb wrapped in muslin, which is kept wet.

wet-bulb temperature
The final temperature attained by the wetted muslin covered wet bulb thermometer of a psychrometer when thoroughly ventilated.

Wet-Bulb Temperature The lowest temperature that can be obtained by evaporating water into air.

Wet-Bulb Temperature: The lowest temperature that can be obtained by evaporating water into air.

adiabatic wet-bulb temperature"See wet-bulb temperature.
adiabatic"See adiabatic process.
adiabatically enclosed system"A thermodynamic system in which no heat or mass is transported across its boundaries.

Wet Bulb Zero(Abbrev. WBZ) - the height where the wet-bulb temperature goes below 0°C.

wet-bulb depressionThe difference in degrees between the air temperature (dry-bulb temperature) and the wet-bulb temperature.wet-bulb temperatureThe lowest temperature that can be obtained by evaporating water into the air.

WET BULB THERMOMETER: A thermometer with a muslin-covered bulb which is moistened; used to measure wet-bulb temperature.
WIND DIRECTION: The direction from which the wind is blowing. Usually measured in degrees azimuth.

Psychrometric Tables These are tables used by meteorologists to determine measures of atmospheric water content (dewpoint, vapor pressure, or relative humidity) from the observed dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperature values taken with a psychrometer.
