WIND CHILL INDEX The calculation of temperature that takes into consideration the effects of wind and temperature on the human body. Describes the average loss of body heat and how the temperature feels. This is not the actual air temperature.

Wind Chill Index - A means of quantifying the threat of heat loss from the human body during windy and cold conditions.
Z=Zulu - See GMT or Greenwich Mean Time ...

Wind Chill Index
(Wind Chill Factor, Chill Factor) Index used to determine the relative discomfort resulting from a specific combination of wind speed and air temperature, expressed by the loss of body heat in watts per square meter (of skin).

Wind chill index (also called wind-chilled factor.) The cooling effect of any combination of temperature and wind, expressed as the loss of body heat in kilograms per hour per square meter of skin surface.

Wind Chill Advisory- Issued when the wind chill index is expected to be between -25F and -39F for at least 3 hours. This is using the wind chill of the sustained wind, not gusts.
