AAR Association of American Railroads. AB Valve The operating device used on freight cars for charging, applying, and releasing the brakes. Also called a triple valve ABD Valve An improvement of the AB Valve that features a quick release.

For whatever reason, I made reference to the AAR as the American Association of Railroads. It is actually the Association of American Railroads.

First of the Upper Michigan modeling series will be Copper Range (CR locally, AAR: COPR) diesels. COPR owned three, all Baldwin's, #100 & #101 were DS-4-4-1000's, and #200, which was bought later, an S12.

Here's another way of looking at it with a comparison to other scales. Note that the dimensions of the prototype are AAR (American Association of Railroads) standards.
