Model railroad Alternating CurrentAmpere

DCC Ammeter Notes
The values of resistors R1 and R3 can be changed to give a particular current range. The more closely matched the resistors are the greater the overall accuracy of the circuit.

Ammeter
Meter used to measure current strength; How many amperes are being used by a motor or other electrical equipment.

Ammeter
Meter used to measure current strength - for example, how many amps a locomotive draws when it stalls.
Ampere or amp ...

The ammeter is also a digital readout and an electronic bar graph. The air brake gauges are displayed on the screen for equalizing, main reservoir, brake pipe, brake cylinder and air flow.

The ammeter indicated less than 1/4 ampere of current as I tried to keep that square shaft from turning. I had no excuse. A suitable drive motor for my turntable was on site.

Power is supplied by a MRC Dual Loco Pack #700N (4 amps) with a MRC Transistorized Cab Control #55 and has a NJI Voltmeter and Ammeter. A MRC Dualpack #770N (2.6 amps) is also used.

With no trains on the track, the ammeter will stay at zero. Pass a 17010 switching magnet over the top of the 17100 train sensor.
