Sagebrush leaves compare favorably to alfalfa for livestock nutrition value. However, they also contain oils that are toxic to the symbiotic bacteria in the rumen of most ruminants. These oils have the greatest effect on cattle.

 


Brush off any loose bits of metal dust or pieces that are still on the model or your fingers into the tray or sheet you have set up - then throw this excess metal in the bin.

Brushstroke
The mark left by a loaded (filled) brush on a surface. Brushstrokes can be distinguished by their direction, thickness, texture, and quality.

Dry brushing
Use an old stiff-bristled brush - one that's been used and cleaned over and over again- or buy an inexpensive hog-bristle brush at a craft store.

Brush the cobwebs off your workbench and get a project underway. With enough small bits of time you can get that model on the layout.

Buckle. To fail by an inelastic change in alignment (usually as a result of compression). To lose line of track by bulging.

Brush crews completed clearing the last segment of the line from MP 6 to MP 16 on October 29th. About 426 volunteer hours were needed to open this section of the line, about 42 hours per mile.

Painting
Good paint is only as good as the surface to which it is applied. Painting wood is much different from painting metal or plastic. At any rate, good surface prepration is key.

Dry Brush
A modeling technique where a paint brush is used to accent highlights of a model. This is accomplished by using a light color paint and first removing most of the paint on a paper towel.

To drybrush, grab a stiff bristle brush and just dab the end into the rust paint. You only want the paint on the end of the bristles. Whisk the brush over a piece of cardboard a few times until most of the paint is out of it.

The process:
1) we laid out track without connecting it, to see if our plans were correct. They were. By actually laying track out, we were able to make minor adjustments.

Electric generators usually operate maintenance free, but if they do go wrong there are only two main parts that can be repaired by most users, the bearings and the brushes.

I choose to use a brush for painting... it goes reasonably fast and looks decent, and as I plan to weather these units to reflect the 30 years of hard labor they've performed, the paint job doesn't need to be perfect! ...

Dry Brushing : A technique where an almost dry brush is used to highlight details on a model with paint. Can be used for weathering models or for scenic work, rocks and stone walling, for example.

It should not have any brush marks. I found it best to use an 8" long lambswool roller. I use EZKARE Latex Flat Enamel (a True Value Hardware store paint) E4Y20 & >J1Y12 color mix as the truest match to open sky under my basement lighting.

When this part of the procedure is dry, grab a small but stiff brush, (Mine is 1/2 an inch wide) and dip it into the box with the desired chalk colour. (I used grey) Now, brush it onto the roof of the structure brushing downwards.

OK, now where did you put those brushes? Now is a good time to put them back in and test things out. Putting the brushes back in is much easier than you would think. You can start by putting the front brushes on first.

With various brush sizes, apply in a downward motion from the top of the car, your thinned polly scale paint, and work it into the grooves and such. It's best to have a few shades of grime thinned to give you a better look.

Use a wet brush and the acrylic colors straight from the tubes. The brush is first dipped into the stain of the color you are using. Then squeeze the tube of paint so that the paint barely just barely comes out of the tube.

A painting and weathering technique in which most of the pigment or paint is removed from the brush before the brush is touched to the model. The "dry brush" is then stroked lightly over the model to bring out raised details and textures.

I use Floquil Rail Brown paint on the track and ties. I found that I had more control by brushing the paint. You might prefer to use an airbrush or spray with aerosol. This is solvent based paint. Be sure to provide adequate ventilation.

There are other tools such as files, surfoam tools, and wire brushes to shape foam but they are all so messy by producing tiny pieces of foam that are electrostatic and cling to everything. It is a big hassle trying to vacuum it up.

Axle Brush Axle mounted contact used to provide a return path for power circuits on electric vehicles. Nowadays normally mounted on the axle end as part of the axlebox assembly.
