Bumping Post A structure attached to the tracks at the end of a section of tracks to prevent LRVs from leaving the tracks or entering tracks placed out of service.
Stub Track A form of side track connected to a running track at one only and protected at the other end by a bumping post or other obstruction. Subdivision A portion of a division designated by timetable.

Stub Terminal - A dead end track with a bumping post; used in yards, industrial spurs, mining and logging areas. Stud Contact - Similar to 3-rail, but the conductor rail is replaced by a row of energized studs along the center of the track.
