Monthly Division Meetings and Model Railroad Clinics
Our monthly division meetings start at 7:00 pm with a model railroading clinic or workshop. A short business meeting follows the clinic.

A portion of a railroad considered as an operational and administrative unit.

Division
A portion of the railroad designated by it own timetable and having its own management structure. Headed by a superintendent under whose direction the three essential functions coming under "operations" are carried out.

Division
That portion of a railroad managed by a superintendent.
Doghouse
Used on steam locomotive tenders, it is a small enclosure usually located atop the back of the tender, which provides shelter for the brakeman. Also, a slang term for caboose.

One NMRA division holds a "build a kit" clinic at its yearly show. This clinic is aimed at young children and their parents. The idea is to show them that "it's not hard".
