Garden Railroad
We opted to build a garden railway to enhance our backyard. Since buying our home last year, we've spent many hours making the yard attractive. (The previous owners had neglected the yard entirely).

Plan a garden space suitable for the railway. You'll need to set aside enough of a space where the track can be laid out, scenery grown and tended to, and model features such as buildings and bridges can be added.

The "Gardenland Express" floral and train display was open to the public from Nov. 26, 2003 to Jan. 4, 2004.

There was a method of absolute protection for crew working in the tracks in the garden when they were coupling them up and either pulling them to the east end for more room at the hump end or for clearing the track out.

The mountain areas at the west end of the building are constructed from garden bark chips that have been glued together and painted. In the south west corner of the room will be a logging and mining area served by the narrow gauge railroad.

I remember becoming interested in the hobby by seeing my father's remote controlled Tamiya miltary models in action around the back garden.
