Rapido couplers are used with most original N scale equipment with similar disadvantages.

Pop the metal tabs off the back of the coupler housing, slide the black coupler pin out and remove the Rapido couplers. Lift the cab off the shell. Remove all clear plastic lights and windows. Voila! Disassembly is complete.
I've always been satisfied with Rapido couplers and block control. Building the layout and running the trains has always been a great source of pleasure for me and I've met many nice people along the way.
modellers have the option to convert the couplings on their rolling stock to the Fleischmann Profi-Coupler system for more reliable operation should they wish to do so, but most N scale rolling stock continues to be manufactured with Rapido couplers ...
