Train Register-This is a book maintained at designated stations where a crew can look to determine what trains have passed. This book will have the signals displayed, the time of arrival and departure of trains and other necessary information.

Back in the days of Operators, train registers and operation by timetable and train order, trains were required to register en route at open register stations.
