Also called a cut lever. The device which raises the locking pin in a coupler to allow the knuckle to open for uncoupling.

Uncoupling Lever
A rod with a bent handle forming a lever, usually attached to the end sill, by which the lock of the automatic coupler is opened and the cars uncoupled without going between them.

Operate the uncoupling lever.
Pullman
A sleeping car or parlor car operated by the Pullman Co.; by extension, any sleeping car.

" The car wiggles from side to side and causes the pin lifter, or uncoupling lever, on the car to also wiggle and shake.

pinpuller - person responsible for lifting the uncoupling lever so that cars could be "kicked" or uncoupled.

Step 1a I started by trimming off the cast on uncoupling levers from either end. The rear pilot will be used to match up the styrene shapes in my case, however you can use either end. We'll refer to this as the template pilot.
