Underbridge (UK): A bridge carrying the railway and allowing a roadway (etc.) to pass under the railway.
Adjustment switches are also used when thermal forces, additional to those in CWR, may be encountered such as at long underbridges which are themselves subject to expansion and contraction (US term: Breather Switch).
Underbridge - Underline bridge carrying the railway over a gap, road, or river. Underframe - Framework or structure which supports the body of a rail car. Underpass - A roadway going beneath an overpass, scenic effect, bridge, etc.
