Aemilian (253 AD)
Born Marcus Aemilius Aemilianus in Mauretania around 206 AD. He led his armies on a successful expedition across the Danube and was shortly thereafter hailed as emperor. He marched on Italy and defeated Gallus in May 253 AD.

Decius [b. ca. 201] was governor of Lower Moesia from 234-238. After the revolt of Pacatian he was sent to Moesia to restore order, but the rebels acclaimed him emperor and forced him to assume the purple.

The brief reign of Aemilian (A.D. 253) saw the issue of a number of interesting types, including extremely rare antoniniani in the name of his wife, Cornelia Supera.
