They are finding them in bank-wrapped rolls, widely available at coin shops, and in circulation.

The Federal Reserve system distributes bags of coins to member banks, which often place them into circulation either as loose change or by running them through mechanical devices which count and wrap them (creating bank-wrapped rolls).

Fortunately for today's collectors, the renowned dealer Wayte Raymond and others were quite diligent in their accumulation of bank-wrapped rolls in the '30s, a time when most people couldn't even afford the $10 cost of a single roll.
