BU rolls

Numismatic Brown BackBuckled die

BU rolls: set quantities of coins that are Brilliant Uncirculated. Example: a BU roll of Morgan Dollars has 20 coins, all Uncirculated.

 


BU rolls Wrapped coins (usually in paper) in specific quantities for each denomination. Fifty for cents, forty for nickels, fifty for dimes, forty for quarters, and so on.

Several issues of these intermediate grade coins are quite a challenge to locate and curiously, some issues are more difficult to locate in problem-free XF or AU than in mint state due to the hoarding of original BU rolls.

* You can actually collect a complete set of Barber old coins, such as in BU rolls.
* Coin dealers will often sell you a Barber old coin for $2-$4, although early issues such as the 1893/2 are valued at $115 (Good) to $290 (Extra Fine).

He also found one in a Brinks roll but after ordering more boxes from his local banks (presumably Brinks) found no more. He said ten BU rolls obtained in late June in Brinks wrap revealed no finds.
