Census - A compilation of the known specimens of a particular numismatic item. Census reports are generally not as accurate as one may think.

Census
Refers to the number of coins certified and graded in a specific grade by one (or more) of the grading services. See also: POPULATION,, CONDITION CENSUS.

NGC Census Report - Quarterly publication issued by NGC listing the number of coins graded and their grade.
Nick - A small mark on a coin usually caused by contact with a another coin.

NGC Census: 1; 1 finer (MS-66). A separate listing for a "silver plugged" 1794 in MS-66 is the Amon Carter piece, now called Specimen-66 by PCGS.

Term introduced by Dr. William H. Sheldon to denote the finest specimen and average condition of next five finest known of a given variety of large cents. Catalogers are gradually extending the use of the term to other series.

Telephone directories are another useful resource for more modern tokens. Genealogical sources such as census records are useful for tokens issued up to around 1880. Sometimes it is possible to contact the descendants of the original issuers.

That is probably a good thing since, even with the newly found hoard coins increasing the census, these are not (yet?) available in great supply. Perhaps one of the coins below will better serve your purposes.
