Lately, I've been acquiring more and more pieces from large collections as they come to market through different auction houses, so I'll give what information I can.

Ever since its foundation in 1816, the OeNB has been the focus of all things monetary in Austria.

The "Magic" Collection is a great set of MS and PR Indian Cent. The target grade is 64RD with a few grading higher.

The collection emphasizes the development of money and medals in the United States. The core of the U.S. collection, consisting of more than 18,000 items, including coins of great rarity, came to the Smithsonian in 1923 from the United States Mint.

The collection was displayed at the library for more than 50 years. However it was locked away after a theft of some of the items in 1977. Even though a bulk of the collection was recovered it did not come back on display.

Our collection will be based on Jefferson nickels, probably the most overlooked of the circulating coin types. It's also the easiest set to complete because it has no rare dates!

The Bass collection is one of the last great 'old time' collections that will be sold and it is probable that coins with the Bass pedigree will be revered by future collectors.

$2 million collection

The best place to start collecting would be with pennies, we will focus on the Lincoln Cent for the years 1909 through 1958, which are the Wheat Cents.

Protecting Coin Collections

Making some kind of computerized listing of your inventory is the first step to managing your collection. Many collectors begin with an Excel spreadsheet and never need more.

Collecting coins is a fun and enjoyable hobby for many people but a coin collection needs to be cared for and storing it properly is a must for serious collectors.
Don't leave your coin collection everywhere.

collection could be of a progression of greater and greater percentages of off-center in the same clock rotation or one of each clock rotation position with the same percentage of off-center strike arranged as an actual clock face.

Collection from most countries
India's Rahul Samant has a coin collection with coins from 230 countries. 190 are from sovereign countries, 33 from dependancies of sovereign states, 6 from disputed territories and 1 from another territory.

When collections of some tangible assets grow to a certain size, storage becomes a problem. Due to their relatively small size, rare coins are one of the few assets where $1,000,000 can easily be stored in a safety deposit box at your local bank.

My recollection of their use is that they were never confused despite their similarity in size, and the two coins were useful in giving change in the pre-decimal system.

In my collection there is a rare copper coin (fig.1) found at Stary Qrim in the Crimea. Coins similar to this one have been attributed in the past and published by Iliesku.

CUTTING A COLLECTION DOWN TO SIZE.
The coinage of many countries exceeds that of the United States in variety. Deciding how to limit a collection can be difficult.
