1963 Franklin Half Dollar

A term used for a Franklin half dollar where the lower set of lines on the Liberty Bell is fully visible. Full Bell Lines are rarer than non-Full Bell Lines, and is an important modifier in grading Franklin half dollars.

FBL: "Full Bell Lines" Used to describe Franklin half dollars where the lower lines on the Liberty Bell are fully visible to the eye.

Similarly, the Franklin half dollar was only 13 years old when a special act of Congress authorized the Kennedy half. The change from the Eisenhower dollar to the Susan B. Anthony also required a special act of Congress.

It is similar to the design on the reverse of the Franklin Half Dollar. No coins were dated 1975. Those produced in 1975 were of the bicentennial type. Beginning in 1977, the dollar coin went back to the traditional design.
