Full strike
A numismatic item that displays the full detail intended by the designer. Weak striking pressure, worn dies or improper planchets can sometimes prevent all the details from appearing, even on uncirculated specimens.

Full strike. Struck with very sharp dies. The fields show heavy die polishing and the devices are very rough. Perhaps it is an old die that was repolished, or a brand new die. It is very interesting and pretty.

In a series such as Mercury Dimes, where a PCGS MS-66 1945 dime is worth $15 and the same coin with a full strike (designated in this series as "Full Bands") is worth $7,500, strike is a huge element.

You will then learn when to add to this grade such adjectival modifiers as prooflike, full strike, rim nick, weakly struck, cleaned, etc.
