Numismatic G-4Galba

G-6 This is for "Good" (the grade) and "6" (the numerical designation of the grade). A higher grade (i.e., less worn) than a G-4 coin. The rims will be complete and the peripheral lettering will be full. See also Good.

 


G-6 (Good-plus) - Coin has a full rim plus major devices and features are clearly outlined. Heavy wear.

Grade
The numerical or adjectival condition of a coin.

While not included in the ANA standards, intermediate grades like AU-53, VF-35, F-15 and G-6 are used by some dealers and grading services.

The adjective corresponding to the grades G-4 and G-6. Coins in these grades usually have little detail but outlined major devices. On some coins, the rims may be worn to the tops of some letters.

The lower grade G-4 goes for $600.00. Recently advertised was an ANACS G-4 priced for $612.50 with a VG-10 going for $1,250.00. Ours, G-6, a better coin, is just $685.00, with the ANACS case. (369780) ...
