Called the Flowing Hair Dollar, this first US Silver Dollar appeared during 1794. The obverse is a bust of Lady Liberty with free flowing hair and the reverse has a bald eagle encompassed by a wreath.

Looking at the reverse, you can see the silver foil of the obverse behind the left hand of Apollo, which corresponds to the hair over the ear on the obverse. I am amazed that the foil there has not bent and broken off.
The 'obverse' of the coin shows the portrait of George V, however, if you look closely you can see the numerals of a date in the top of his hair, a roo's tail leading backwards from his ear, and the forelegs of a roo in the hair behind his ear.
Two types were created; Barber's Flowing Hair design, and the rarer Coiled Hair type by Morgan. The $4.00 Stella, Latin for "star" is named for the five-pointed star on the reverse.
