High end - A term applied to any coin at the upper end of a particular grade.
High points - The areas of highest relief in a coin design. Usually the first to show evidence of wear or abrasion. May be incomplete due to a "soft" strike.

If you are buying expensive, high end coins, you have to make some stressful decisions. One way to reduce this stress level is to put together a cheap, "fun" set.

He may find that collectors who request Fine (today’s XF) coins will take a high end Good (today’s VF) coin without any problem.

However, I have always liked the 1914 as a date and I think that a solid, high end example in MS63 is a comparatively good value in this series. Here's my logic. The key date of the series is the 1911-D.

A very "high end" AU-58 that some would designate as full Mint State. Inspect it in person and make your own decision. Either way, it is a high Condition Census coin of elegant quality.

NGC assigns a to coins at the high end of their assigned grade, approaching the quality requirements for the next grade. In addition to their superior technical merit, coins receiving a plus designation must have above-average eye appeal.

As with any collector looking to buy Silver Coins, MS70 Coins and other high end collectibles; The better informed you are, the better decisions you will make.

First, is the "high end of the range" grading mentioned earlier, which places many NCI coins on the liberal side when viewed by some other dealers.

Authentic pine tree shillings generally sell in the $1,500 to $3,000 range with poor examples being half of the low end price and excellent example being double the high end price.

Most of the times, the coins will be assigned the same grade, ocaasionaly however "borderline" coins - those at the high end of a grade - will be upgraded to the next higher level.

This can correlate to a difference between AU58 and MS 62, a full four points and potentially thousands of dollars for high end coins. Light circulation is usually indicated by a very slight change in color, not a flattening of coin design.

Liner
A coin that is on the cusp between two different grades. A 4/5 liner is a coin that is either a high-end MS/PR-64 or a minimum-standard MS/PR-65. See Also: PQ, High end.

A touch of golden toning is visible on the obverse. This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a high end example of a copper nickel Indian Cent. Only 6 example are currently graded by PCGS with one better.
