With a low relief, Barber dimes faired well and although there are a few semi-key issues (not including 1894-s), an entire set in circulated condition can be assembled for under $1500.00 in G4 or so condition.

Good: A considerable amount of metal has worn away leaving Liberty as an outline in low relief. Faint suggestions of separation are found in both her hair and wing.

But though the Flying Eagle cents were popular, they were discontinued after 1858, possibly due to the low relief design which tended to wear down quickly. So in 1859, a new kind of small cent appeared: the Indian Head cent.
