Tensor light

Numismatic Ten Pence coinTerritorial Gold

tensor light: a special bulb used to grade coins. Tensor bulbs are usually brighter than incandescent but not as blinding as halogen.
Territorial Gold: privately issued gold coins of the mid 1800's. See: Pioneer Gold.

tensor light A small, direct light source used by many numismatists to examine and grade coins.

However, a Tensor light by itself in an otherwise dark room is too bright and will not allow you to properly grade a coin. One important point is to maintain a constant and consistent lighting environment.
