Breen declared that this coin is unknown in Mint State, and the Eagle Collection specimen has been graded a very respectable XF-45. Other "CC" Mint highlights include 1871-CC (AU-55) and 1872-CC (AU-58).
XF coins come in XF-40 and XF-45. With an XF coin, you can usually see the wear without messing around too much, but it is a very small amount of wear. There is often some of the mint luster left on the coin.
XF: At the minimum, the lower curl and ribbon where the diamonds are should be just separated. XF-45: The coin should have all four diamonds showing. Although sometimes a slight weakness in design on certain dates will make only 3 1/2 visible.
