Catalogue Value: The value of a cover as listed in a given catalogue for the most common condition in which the cover is usually collected. Some catalogues list covers at a retail value.
Catalogue: A book or similar compilation with extensive information on stamps incuding identification & value.
Catalogue value: Value of a stamp according to a particular catalogue.
Censored mail: Mail which is opened & inspected.

Stamp catalogues are very useful for a stamp collector.

Accessories: Various products and tools commonly used by the stamp collector, including hinges, mounts, stamp tongs, perforation gauges, stock books and magnifiers.
These catalogues list stamps or covers by number, and if you are using pre-printed albums produced by the same companies, that number will probably be used as a reference there as well.
A catalogue of censor markings used on mail from American soldiers and War Department civilians assigned overseas in 1941 and 1942. The book is organized chronologically/geographically according to the major world regions in which U.S.
The Scott catalogues all have sort of a preface, or special notice, in the front, which is of vital importance to those using the book, yet all too few read the helpful hints and remember them.

Every stamp catalogue shows an estimated value for every stamp it lists. And, since values can change, they print new ones every year. So, you look in the catalogue and find that one stamp is valued at 35 cents, and the other is valued at 70 cents.

S/b. - Abbreviation for stock-book.
Schiffspost - Ship post.
Self-adhesive - A postage stamp with a permanently sticky back, protected before use by a removable piece of paper.
With collections (let's say it's YOUR collection that you've decided to sell - aj.), very often there are several nice pieces or sections that can command a good sales price by themselves, if they are separated and catalogued and described.
Besides Scott's, we now have quite a few foreign specialized catalogues. To help us read the foreign catalogues, we purchased books to translate different languages to English. It's not as difficult as you might imagine.

Scott catalogue value, etc.). These valuations are not necessarily the prices at which the stamps can be purchased. Often, depending on condition, stamps can be purchased below catalog value (or above, if the condition of the stamp(s) warrant same).
Stamps, other philatelic material, catalogues, albums, and so on are easy to get by mail order. The philatelic press carries advertising for all of these hobby needs, and stamp shows in your area also will have dealers there.

Type: A basic design of a stamp or a set. Catalogues use type numbers or letters to save space. Catalogues show a typical design of one type rather than every stamp with that design or a similar design.
